Description

The food supplement Solgar Folacin contains folic acid which, together with vitamin B12 and vitamin C, is necessary for hematopoiesis in the body and for the prevention of anemia. It is also cardioprotective since it helps to reduce the levels of harmful homocysteine, a substance linked to arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction.

Folic acid is also necessary during pregnancy as meeting the recommended daily nutritional needs prevents abnormalities in the developing fetus (always in consultation with the doctor monitoring the pregnancy). The lack of the vitamin can cause anemia, nervous disorders, and a decrease in immune defense.
