Vaginal washings: what are they?

Vaginal washing is the process by which you clean the inside of the vagina. Vaginal douches are used for personal hygiene, preventing sore throats and cleaning the vagina after menstruation or after intercourse.

There is a variety of devices and products for proper vaginal cleaning. The ideal is that they contain plain water or chamomile extract which is antiseptic, while it is good to avoid preparations that contain soap.

Advice

Do not do vaginal washes often because you disturb the normal PH of the area. This results in the overgrowth of other microorganisms that cause inflammation and vaginitis. Limit them to 1 to 2 times a month.
