Elbow

The elbow joint consists of a series of complex anatomic structures in a relatively limited anatomical area. Because of its location and use, it is exposed to injuries, inflammations, tendinitis, arthritis and various other conditions, or even fractures, which are not at all rare, with usually long-lasting consequences in the rehabilitation, because the bones that break are right in the joint. Let's look at the most common elbow problems in more detail.

Epicondylitis (Tennis elbow)
One of the most common elbow diseases is epicondylitis or "tennis elbow". It got its name because it often appears on tennis players. Of course, tennis is not the only cause of elbow problems: everyday activities, such as computer work or manual labor, also put stress on this joint, by straining the wrist muscles and of the fingers located at this point. The result can be severe, sharp pain, especially on the outside of the elbow.

Treatment includes resting the joint and avoiding movements that trigger pain. In addition to pain relief through medication, supporting the elbow with a splint, as well as physical therapy help significantly.

Epicondylitis (Golfer's elbow)
Medial epicondylitis is also called golfer's elbow as it is often seen in golfers. It is associated with tendinitis of the muscles that flex the wrist and hand as they attach to the medial epicondyle of the elbow. The pain may be located where the tendons attach to the external epicondyle or along the muscles in forearm. The pain occurs and/or worsens during or after heavy manual work.

As with tennis elbow, rest, pain medication and elbow braces are usually the treatment options.Sports, adjustable, elastic, compression pads whatever the elbow brace you are looking for at Futuro and Hansaplast you can find it!
