Royal Jelly

Royal pulp: How does it benefit our body?

Royal jelly is an off-white, slightly sour, thick substance with a slight odor. It is called basil because it is secreted by the glands of the worker bees, for the optimal nutrition and development of the queen bee.

royal honey

Royal royal jelly is the main food of the queen bee. Its composition varies according to the geography and climate where the bees live.

What does it contain?

  • 60-70% water
  • 12-15% proteins
  • 10-16% sugars
  • 3-6% fats
  • 2-3% vitamins, salts and amino acids

The sugars are mainly composed of fructose and glucose which are similar to those of honey. Lipids are mainly composed of fatty acids in an unusual and rare structure, the main one being hydroxytransdecenoic acid which has antibacterial and fungicidal properties. Protein provides all the necessary amino acids in sufficient proportions.

Royal pulp owes its amazing properties to its abundance of vitamins of the B complex something that is decisive for the good functioning not only of the nervous system and metabolism, but also of the entire organism, however, it lags behind in vitamins C, A, D, E, K which are detected in a small amount.

The main minerals it contains are: K, Ca, Na, Zn, Fe, Cu and Mn in significant quantities. Also, it contains a number of active substances, such as acetylcholine which has vasodilating properties useful for the treatment of circulatory problems found in elderly people.
