Olonea Bacteflora PPI is a food supplement with 4 strains of friendly bacteria, 10 billion bacteria per capsule and vitamins C, D3 and B12, magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. This specially designed formula helps you offset the side effects of PPI medication.

Medication with Proton Pump Inhibitors - PPIs inhibits the production of gastric acid. The reduction of gastric fluid in the stomach leads to a drop in defense against pathogenic microorganisms, reduced breakdown of food and therefore reduced absorption of nutrients, as well as undesirable changes in the intestinal microbiome.

The use of PPI medication results in the suppression of essential elements that are necessary for the proper functioning of the body:

Microbiotics: Medication with proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) inhibits the production of gastric acid, which acts as a barrier against pathogenic microorganisms. This results in these micro-organisms continuing their course. They disrupt the intestinal microbiome and cause side effects, such as diarrhea. Balancing the microbiome with probiotics can prevent as well as ameliorate the negative effects.
Magnesium: Magnesium deficiency (hypomagnesemia) has been recognized as a side effect of PPIs, as medication with PPIs has been shown to affect the gastrointestinal absorption of magnesium. Low magnesium levels can cause problems, some of which are potentially serious, such as arrhythmias, seizures and tetany. Magnesium citrate is used directly by the body without the need for gastric acid or other conversion process.
Calcium: PPIs increase the risk of osteoporotic fracture. Due to hypochlorhydria, decreased absorption of calcium is observed, as the solubility of calcium depends on the pH.
Iron: The long-term use of PPIs is a cause of iron deficiency, they directly affect the metabolism of iron, suppressing its gastrointestinal absorption, due to the reduction of gastric acid secretion.
Zinc: Zinc is more easily absorbed by the body at a low pH. Medication with PPIs increases the pH of the stomach, which makes zinc absorption more difficult and leads to deficiencies.
Vitamin C: Vitamin C is secreted in gastric juice. During treatment with PPIs, the secretion of gastric acid and consequently the concentration of vitamin C there is reduced. There is also evidence that the use of PPIs causes a drop in vitamin C levels, reducing the bioavailability of its active antioxidant form, as ascorbic acid.
Vitamin B12: Long-term treatment with PPIs has been associated with vitamin B12 malabsorption. The increase in intragastric pH prevents the proper release of the vitamin from dietary proteins to allow absorption. In addition, decreased stomach acid can be an early factor in small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) which in turn leads to increased consumption of vitamin B12 by the bacteria.
Vitamin D3: Improves the functioning of the immune system and strengthens the body's defenses.

Returns
-In case of any product defect found upon receipt, we undertake immediate replacement without any additional financial burden to the customer, as soon as we are notified either by phone (0030 2421084400) or by e-mail ( [email protected] ) or via Facebook message ( https://www.facebook.com/pharmnet .gr ).

-In case of non-defective product, this can be returned if:

a) The date of receipt of your order with the date of submission of the application for return should not exceed 10 calendar days,

b) the packaging has not been tampered with and is in its original condition. (In this case the customer is charged with the shipping costs.)

For reasons of hygiene and protection of our customers it is not possible to return non-defective refrigerators, baby food and milk as well as changes are not accepted in socks, tights, bandages, used electronic devices and orthopedic items.
