How to properly care for your contact lenses?

Undoubtedly, contact lenses make our lives easier as they allow us to move without the glasses that make it difficult, but on the other hand they require special and meticulous care as they can cause eye infections. It is therefore important for the hygiene of our eyes to know the correct way to care for and clean contact lenses. 

1. Always check the expiry date printed on the bottle of sterile contact lens solution. Remember that the solution, once opened, must be used within 2 months at the latest. After the end of this period, the liquid loses its properties.

2. It is important to be meticulous about maintaining hygiene when cleaning your lenses. Before handling the lenses, always wash your hands thoroughly with neutral soap and dry them thoroughly.

3. Rinse the lenses with the aqueous solution before wearing them: in this way, you will eliminate all traces of disinfectant liquid and your eyes will gain a sense of freshness.

4. Always take one contact lens at a time and wet it thoroughly with the aqueous solution. This process will help remove dirt, bacteria and makeup residue deposits. Place the lens in the palm of your hand and gently rub the liquid on the lens for a few seconds to make sure you clean it thoroughly.

5. In exactly the same way, when removing contact lenses, always disinfect them with the full solution before storing them in the case.

6. Be sure to fully immerse the lens in the solution, using a lens case. This is the only method to remove all microorganisms from contact lenses.

7. Repeat the same process for the second lens
