Hemorrhoids and their treatment

Although most people find it difficult to talk about this problem, hemorrhoids are a condition that affects more and more people. Recent studies have shown that in the European Union hemorrhoids affect 50% of the population, while it is estimated that 2/3 of people who are finally tested are found to have hemorrhoids. If we even take into account that 50% of sufferers do not know about it, then we understand the serious dimensions of the "taboo disease"

But what are hemorrhoids? 

These are veins located in the area between the anus and the rectum, which swell, with various factors contributing to their swelling, such as heredity, a diet low in fiber, poor hygiene, intense work, body weight, the sedentary lifestyle, pregnancy and standing.

There are two categories: internal and external. The first ones, as is obvious, are created inside the rectum while the external ones are just under the skin around the anus. The most common signs are small lumps with blood around the anus, bleeding during defecation (blood in the stool), severe pain and itching near the anus area.

Ways to deal with?

In addition to lifestyle changes such as exercise, good hydration and a diet rich in nutritional fiber, there are preparations that offer quick relief from the symptoms of hemorrhoids. These include creams, ointments, gels, foams and nutritional supplements to reduce inflammation and pain.
