Injury Recovery

Sports injuries prevention and rehabilitation

We all agree that exercise is the best way to stay in shape and protect our body and health. But often, exercise leads to injuries. Pulls, falls, cramps and many other problems that lack of attention and proper preparation can cause. So, let's look at sometips that we can followto exercise with the greatest possible safety.

Proper warm-up
A good warm-up can significantly reduce the risk of injury. The warm-up can consist of some light aerobic exercise, such as a leisurely jog, to gradually warm up the muscles, which can last from 5 to 15 minutes, depending on how hard we intend to work out afterwards.

Gradual increase of limits
It is very important to understand our limits. When we try to do more work than we can handle, we are much more likely to get injured. The intensity in our exercises should always increase gradually, along with our endurance.

Correct equipment
The right equipment is of great importance since it offers sufficient support to the points that need it during the exercise avoiding thus possible sports injuries.

Restoration: Physical  or surgery?

Physiotherapy is a great ally in the treatment of injuries, either as an exclusive therapeutic approach or as an adjunctive treatment. Many injuries, after the diagnosis will be made by the orthopedist, are treated only with physical therapy, which now includes many modern means.

In cases where surgery is required, physical therapy comes next to complete the therapeutic cycle in the form of rehabilitation of the athlete. Orthopedic Sports Medicine and physical therapy are an integral therapeutic combination.
